Alex is a passionate clinical and corporate governance leader with almost 10 years’ experience as an independent NFP director specialising in the aged care, youth services, and community services sectors. Alex is passionate about the delivery of high-quality care to the aging population of Australians and about building robust governance structures in the organisations that deliver those services to ensure a strong future for the whole sector. Alex is an anaesthetist practicing in Brisbane, holds formal qualifications in medicine, public health, executive leadership, and is a graduate of the AICD. Alex joined the Torbay Board in July 2024 and is looking forward to continuing the historical legacy of the Torbay group to deliver high quality aged care in the Hervey Bay area.

Dhan de Leon – Clinical Nurse Specialist
Dhan is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in clinical education, geriatric care, and nursing leadership. His commitment to quality care, continuous improvement, and evidence-based practice has been central to his professional journey. He completed his Master of Arts in Nursing, majoring in Nursing Education, which strengthened his expertise in teaching, clinical supervision, and professional development within the nursing profession.
Dhan served as a Clinical Facilitator in both the Philippines and Saudi Arabia, where he gained extensive experience in clinical supervision, training, and mentoring nursing students and nursing staff. In 2019, he obtained his AHPRA registration and has since been practicing in Australia as a Registered Nurse specializing in geriatric nursing.
Over the years, he has undertaken several leadership roles, including Clinical Care Coordinator, Clinical Nurse Educator, and Clinical Manager, where he has contributed to improving clinical practice, staff capability, and resident outcomes.
Dhan is committed to maintaining high nursing standards while promoting a supportive and effective clinical environment. He is proud to be part of the team at Torbay and looks forward to contributing to the delivery of high-quality care for residents.
