INTRODUCTION
Clarrie Millar A.M. in writing the Foreword to Neville Searle’s Book The Neville Searle Story of the Torbay Retirement Village 1974 to 1992 described TORBAY in these terms:
“How often, standing before a monument to achievement does one ponder on the circumstances of its rise, and feel a disappointment at the lack of information on the “who, how, why and when” giving reality to that, which in the first place may have been no more than a dream.
Author Neville Searle, with a commendable zeal, has in this publication, recorded for posterity the story of events, the triumphs and frustration, the joy and occasional despair of a group of people, dedicated to making the “Torbay” dream come true. It does indeed stand as a monument to the best in man.”
Clarrie Millar A.M. was the Federal member for Wide Bay from 1974 to 1990 and is the Patron of TORBAY.
